Mr.Stokes is a Shanghai institution. Originally from New York City and Boston,he's been a fixture of Shanghai's DJscene for two years. When he's not banging out beats in his home studio or battling the city's best scratch DJs,Stokes represents Hip Hop,Dancehall,Funk and Electro to the full est at three weekly residencies tt Mural,Tanghui Music Pub,New Heights and the Red Room.Along with DJKamikaze,he's the DJbehing Bananas (www.free-bananas.com),thecity's liveliest dance party that finds the two DJs rocking three turntables and two mixers,breaking the freshest beats from around the world to a packed room for maratyon six-hour sets. In 2005,he took 1st place in Shanghai's Minxoff competition,the onyl Chinese national competintion to cover all styles of DJing.
In 2006,he's mixed and scratched with DJ Qbert,the Herbaliser and Turntablelab's Egg Foo Young,among many others.
来自纽约和波士顿的Mr.Stokes两年前开始了他在上海的DJ生涯，现已经成为沪上派对圈中不可或缺的一名活跃分子。每周他都固定在磨砚、Tanghui Music Pub，New Height 和Red Room打碟，放他最拿手的hip hop、dancehall，funk和electro。不工作时他在家里的工作室中苦练搓盘技术，要不就和上海本地的混音达人们比拼炫技。他还和他的德国伙伴Kamikaze联手打造了上海最另类最有活力的“香蕉派对”（www.free-bananas.com）。这两位帅哥DJ同时掌控3个转盘和2个混音器，连续6个小时不停马力播放来自世界各地的最新鲜舞曲，让拥挤在舞池中的派对动物们为之疯狂。
2006年是Mr.Stokes尤为忙碌的一年。他被邀请和一些来上海演出的国际大腕同台献艺，包括大名鼎鼎的伦敦舞曲二人组成DJ Qbert,the Herbaliser 和Turntablelab's Egg Foo Young。同时，他的身影也遍布中国的其他城市，如杭州、长沙、武汉、昆明、泉州、贵阳等。无论台下的人们想听hit hop还是houes，他多样化的曲风和敏锐的观察力让他在任何一家夜店打碟时都游刃有余。
